Overview

Umami helps a website owner answer practical questions about visits, referral sources and events. Hosting it yourself gives you control over the application and its database, but also makes updates, backups and capacity planning your responsibility.

The official Vercel guide describes the application deployment. PostgreSQL is a separate dependency: compare Neon and Supabase before choosing storage. An application that accepts analytics events continuously can consume both database and hosting allowances, even if its dashboard has few visitors.

We checked the upstream repository and hosting documentation; we have not tested this deployment ourselves. The preview is an official documentation screenshot, not a screenshot of a deployment we operate.

FAQ

Is self-hosting the same as Umami Cloud?

No. Self-hosting means operating the open-source application and database yourself; Umami Cloud is the managed offering.

Is the database included in the app deployment?

No. The Vercel path needs a separate PostgreSQL database. Neon and Supabase are possible providers; check their storage and compute limits.

Is Vercel Hobby suitable for a business dashboard?

Vercel restricts Hobby to personal non-commercial use. Check the current plan terms and choose appropriate hosting for commercial analytics.
