How we verify free cloud tiers
Our goal is not to find the biggest marketing number. We identify the limit most likely to block a real project — and show the evidence behind it.
What we verify
We record the offer type (perpetual, credit, trial or discontinued), headline quotas, card requirement, idle behavior, commercial-use rules, overage behavior, data expiry and the first paid step-up.
Source hierarchy
We prefer, in order: the official pricing page, official limit documentation, terms of service, then official product announcements. Third-party articles and community reports never replace an official source for a quota.
Who creates and reviews the content
The FreeCloudHosting Editorial Team maintains the entries and is accountable for publication. Tools may assist with extraction, comparison, and formatting, but a page is only considered docs verified after its official source and the resulting page are checked for consistency.
What each status means
“Docs verified” means an official source was reviewed within 30 days. Review due soon covers 31–90 days. Needs review means over 90 days, an invalid date or no official source. “Hands-on tested” is a separate signal.
Hands-on test protocol
A test badge requires a real account, a reproducible deployment, the test region and date, payment requirements, idle and limit behavior, and retained evidence. A calculated comparison or documentation review never becomes a hands-on test.
Unknown never becomes “yes”
When a rule is not clearly published, we mark it unknown. Unknown values never satisfy filters such as “no credit card”, “commercial use” or “always on”.
How recommendations work
We rank fit for the workload first, then free-tier constraints, portability and the paid step-up. A service without a perpetual tier can remain listed, but its trial or discontinued status is explicit.
Affiliate and sponsorship policy
Outbound links may contain an affiliate identifier and ad placements are labeled “Sponsored”. Payment cannot buy a badge, a better score or a higher directory position.
Corrections
Free tiers change frequently. If a limit is wrong, send the official page through our contribution form. We update the fact, its source and the verification date together.
